“National Games Spirit Lights Up Mid-Autumn” Lantern Festival 2025 at Tung Chung Promenade
2025.09.27 - 2025.10.12
Hong Kong will host eight competition events and one mass participation event for the 15th National Games. To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and to promote the 15th National Games, South Development and Sustainable Lantau Office of Civil Engineering and Development Department presents the 'National Games Spirit Lights Up Mid-Autumn' Lantern Festival 2025 at Tung Chung East Promenade this year.
To align with the theme of the Lantern Festival, this year will feature a nearly 6-meter-high luminous moon and CEDD mascot "Ir Leo" riding a bicycle to welcome citizens at the center of the promenade. In addition, a heart-shaped photo arch will be provided at the promenade for citizens to take memorable photos. Two Mid-Autumn Festival-exclusive CEDD mascots "Ir LEO" will also greet citizens at the entrance of the Tung Chung Community Liaison Centre (CLC) and its extension. The corridor outside the CLC will be adorned with unique lanterns decorated and coloured by hundreds of primary students. While appreciating these student-decorated lanterns, citizens can also enjoy in solving the riddles displayed on them.
The festive lighting hours for the Mid-Autumn Festival (6 October) and the following day (7 October) will be extended to 12:00 midnight, allowing citizens to thoroughly enjoy themselves and leave with contentment.
